Where we will be staying....

As we are awaiting to leave on Wednesday, we are busy packing and getting last minute things ready. Here are some of the places we will be staying along the way.

June 20-21 ......Venezia (Venice): Hotel Casa Cosmo Venice

June 22-23 ......Vernazza (one of the five villages in Cinque Terre region): La Marina Rooms

June 24 ............Lucca: Alle Dolce Vita

June 25-27 .......Firenze (Florence): Hotel Enza

June 28-29 ......Sorrento: Hotel Nice

June 30-July 1 ...Roma (Rome): Hotel Nardizzi

Our itinerary

I'm sure everyone is wondering where we'll be and when during our trip. Here is the current plan...


June 18: Depart Minneapolis-St. Paul on Northwest (soon to be Delta) Airlines
June 19: Change planes in Amsterdam and then arrive in Rome, get our bearings, and spend one night
June 20-21: Train to Venice for a two night stay
June 22-23: Two nights on the Cinque Terre in the town of Vernazza
June 24: Stop in Pisa briefly and then spend one night in Lucca
June 25-27: Three nights in Florence, where we have reservations for the Uffizi Gallery
June 28-29: Two nights in Sorrento, which we'll use as a base for Pompeii and a day trip to Amalfi
June 30-July 1: Only two nights in Rome, so we won't have time for everything, but we'll be back!
July 2: Fly back to the Twin Cities

A week and a half......

Joel and I are getting so excited about our trip to Italy - coming up in a week and a half. I have been subjected to only taking one small suitcase, so this will be a true test of my packing abilities. As we are traveling, we hope to keep people up-to-date with our adventures through this blog.
